This module provides the Train Bridge Map Pack by Tom Cartos.
Included are 30 maps, 45 themed assets for customisation, an original music track by Tabletop RPG Music, and a labelled key and design notes journal for DMs.
Maps are pre-configured with walls and lighting to be game-ready, so you can jump right in to use them for your next adventure.
The single train line is the quickest way to reach the frontier and allows passengers to avoid much of the dangerous wilderness along the way, but due to infrequent use the relatively new track has already fallen into some disrepair and the guards that patrolled the key intersections have been recalled to the city.
A few miles out from the new town the tracks cross a wide canyon, a few 100 ft deep. The bridge itself is a feat of gnomish engineering, and the view from the middle is one of the highlights of the trip. Despite relatively low numbers of passengers, trains run every week to bring supplies and mail, and return laden with valuable metals and gems mined from the surrounding mountains.
This location is of high interest to the bandits who hide out in the cavern systems below the mountains. If they can stop the train while it is on the bridge, it would be simple to rob it and escape without reinforcements being able to arrive to help. In anticipation of this, the sheriff is looking for adventuring parties to watch the area and protect the train from potential thieves. Unbeknownst to the sheriff and the adventurers, the bandits real target is not the train, but the bridge itself. Cutting off supply and communications to the new town would weaken it and make it easier to attack head on.
