Way back in the 2020s, legend has it that Night City's edgerunning community revolved around a nightclub called the Afterlife. So the story goes, you could find anything there - drugs, guns, fixers, jobs, and even someone to spend the night with.
Around the end of CW4, it shut down suddenly, and without a trace - taking much of Night City's edgerunning community with it.
More than a decade of recession later, the name isn't much more than a rumor - anyone left from the old days has long since died or moved on to greener pastures, leaving the Afterlife as a myth that the scant survivors of the era tell their children about. Until now.
A new group of up-and-comers are making a name for themselves, and it seems like they're not the only ones. As Night City emerges from the ashes of the Red Decades, mysterious forces have set to work - their chief agenda, restoring a club called the Afterlife to its former glory, and then some.
And that brings us to yesterday - when you found a business card in your pocket, along with a coin that looks like it's worth more on its own than the payout of your last hustle. See the address, slot the coin - serve, and be of service.
Includes 14 original missions which span the entirety of Night City and beyond, along with missions spanning half the city, 40 unique, ready-to-play maps and scenes, dozens of new NPCs, royalty-free city ambience playlists, a unique currency system, a dozen custom designed services for the Night City edgerunning community, and more!
And now with 2.0, also includes full integration of the No Place Like Home DLC - turn the Afterlife into your own unique base of operations!
In 2045, the Afterlife isn't just some hole-in-the-wall bar with a name attached to it - its new ownership is aiming to make it the hub of Night City edgerunning, and a baseline home for all of your edgerunning adventures. The bar, club, and hotel spans 6 unique, fully-designed floors packed with unusual services, paid for by Eagles - the new gold standard of Night City.
Heavily inspired by the John Wick franchise, this rendition of the Afterlife is more than meets the eye - a mysterious, shadowy organization with seemingly-unlimited resources, waiting to sink its claws into Night City's underbelly. Take on 12 setup missions to unlock its services, ranging from perfect security, medicine and therapy all the way to Night Markets, misinformation campaigns, and more. Just remember - no violent business is to be conducted on the Afterlife's grounds.
A feedback link for each campaign mission is provided at the journal's conclusion. If you'd like to get in touch with me directly, don't be afraid to reach out! I can be reached on Discord at prometheus.z, or on reddit at /u/theinvaderzim.
