At first glance, the Cabin in the Woods is nothing more than a quaint, unassuming refuge—a humble retreat far from prying eyes. Nestled among towering trees, the main floor features a simple cottage kitchen, a cozy fireplace, and a master bedroom, all exuding warmth and rustic charm. Outside, a wood stove and an assortment of well-used tools suggest a quiet life of self-sufficiency. But appearances can be deceiving.

Beneath the cabin’s unremarkable exterior lies something far more sinister.

The attic, though dusty and long forgotten, holds remnants of the past—old trunks, faded journals, and a closet thick with cobwebs, hiding secrets of its own. A few guest beds and a worn couch offer a place for the party to rest, but the feeling of being watched lingers in the still air.

Then there is the cellar, where the real mystery begins. A storm door in the shed leads down to what seems to be a simple food storage room—lined with shelves of preserved goods and barrels of water. The well, ancient and overgrown with moss, hides a secret of its own: a narrow passage leading to a crumbling foundation wall. The weakened stone offers a way in or out—perhaps a last resort if the party finds themselves trapped in whatever dark forces still linger beneath the cabin.
